I got this very cryptic spam message just a minute ago and usually i would just ignore it, but it is 5:42 am and i have insomnia. It is sent by this guy:
Bart Mcpherson <mcphersonbartpd@gmail.com> and it says it is sent to:
stockjade1@charter.net and this isn’t my email address, but mine does have stock in it. I looked at charter.net and it appears to be some communications company. The name stockjade1 didn’t have any hits on google, but the title of the email and the contents brought up passages in books.
Title: When the key is raised higher and higher the string snaps, and we want to avoid that.
The title is from In the Fire of the Forge vol. 7 by Georg Ebers. According to wikipedia Georg Ebers is a German Egyptologist and Novelist that died in 1898.
Body:
And why were all
efforts exhausted and six thousand men sacrificed to defend it till
late at night on the twenty-fourth.
This quote is from War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. Tolstoy was a Russian writer and he died in 1910.
Never did a fragile tailless
sentence convey a more perfect meaning.
This is from Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy. Hardy was an English novelist who died in 1928.
Until you have convinced yourself
that no one will dare assail Eva Ortlieb’s honour, do not ask her again
if she desires the protection of the convent.
This is also from In the Fire and Forge by Georg Ebers.
I just don’t get what this is suppose to mean. It isn’t you typical spam message. I’m not being told to buy anything or to add an inch to my penis. I guess it could be a way to sell books, but that is stretching it. Maybe he is just bored. I’ve been that bored before when i was like maybe i will just write someone a letter and make them say what the hell was that about. I am gonna email this guy and see if he can shed some light on the matter. Probably not, but hey I am dying to know what the story behind this email is.
