I have to many pairs of shoes and nowhere to put them, except the floor. I decided that I was going to build a shoe rack. I scoured the interwebs and found one that I liked at notmartha. 
So, I went to home depot and bought my supplies. I just went and cut my wood and stained it an ebony color. I am waiting 4 hours for it to dry, so I can apply a second coat. Tomorrow morning I will apply a polyurethane clear satin coat to it, wait 3 hours, sand it and apply a second coat, wait 3 hours, sand it and apply a final coat. Then, I have to wait 24 hours before I can actually assemble to shoe rack.
I have never done any kind of wood work in my life, but have always been into design so I thought this would something fun to do. So far, the fun part has been the planning stage because I couldn’t just copy this guy’s idea. I had to do it atleast a little different. His shoe rack is 2 pairs of shoes per set. I wanted to make it a little more appealing, so I am doing a pyramid style design.
As soon as I am done I will take some pictures of it.
